FITNESS CLASSES IN 2008

There is an extensive range of classes on offer at Pontardawe Leisure Centre. Whatever your level of fitness or age we have a class to help you get fit and stay healthy. To find out more about our class please view the descriptions below.


Indoor Cycling

A bike orientated class where the instructor will lead you through a pre-planned route over hills, along the flat and includes the occasional sprint section. This class is great fun and the fastest way to burn fat.

Aerobics

A choreographed sequence of movements, giving a whole body workout for all levels and abilities.

Low Impact Aerobics

A lighter approach to the aerobic workout, whilst continuing to give a whole body workout.

Body Max

An instructor led. hand held weights class designed to seriously sculpt and tone your body from tip to toe.

Step

An energentic class using step-maximising the ultimate cardiovascular workout, followed by a weight toning programme for a sculptured physique.

Pilates

Pilates is based on a fitness regime that combines stretching and strengthening routines, working the entire body. Pilates concentrates on isolating and simultaneously working muscles you didn’t know you had and focuses on longer, leaner muscle development with emphasis on postural correction

Circuits

This will enter you into a total body workout. The instructor will get through pre-set workout stations, which will improve your stamina, speed, endurance and muscular tone. An ideal class for football, rugby, hockey and other regular sports players.

Yoga

Yoga is a dynamic stretch programme that leaves you feeling relaxed and renewed. It combines controlled breathing, concentration, flexibility and strength training to create a holistic workout that brings the body, mind and soul into a state of balance and harmony.

This class will be for a maximum of 15 people, book
early to avoid dissapointment.

Cardio Kick Boxing

A combination of kicks and punches, choreographed into an aerobic workout, suitable for all levels and abilities.

Extend Class for Fabulous 50's

This class involves gentle excercise to music and is suitable for anyone over the age of 60 and also less able people of all ages. Extend and improve mobility and daily living while increasing healthy life expectancy. Have fun
while exercising, meet new people and remember - ageing is not a disease - help yourself to health!
Please note; part of every class is taken seated

Family Friday

Come and join in the fun at Pontardawe Leisure Centre, with a range of activities aimed at the whole family.

Roller Skating 6.00pm - 8.00pm
Bouncy Castle 8.00pm - 9.00pm

You can eitherjoin in with the kids or make use of the fitness activities available or you can just relax in our licensed refreshment area while we entertain your 'little angels' for you.
